might take the car up to the hills

Well, guys, I seem to be passing these milestones at great speed at the moment. Here's another; 2000 followers of my little ol'sketchblog! Thanks to each and everyone of you. You make me very very happy.

I should have come up with a giveaway to mark this occasion. I will. Just give me a few days to come up with something.

For now, here's some little sketches I made while in Tideswell yesterday. I love this village for drawing (and eating). I love the houses. Each one is different from the next. Many are ancient. I went a little wrong with the composition of this so, as I said in the last post, the best way of dealing with that is to throw everything you've got at it. That way, nobody'll ever notice a slip up.

And, one more thing; can you spot the three cats chilling out around Tideswell? Click on the drawing to find them.

Wow Andrea, 2000 followers is pretty good!!!! It's your fascinating drawings see, full of intrigue...and very well done. I found the cats, one seems to be waving?? :) We were at Foolow on the hill a couple of weeks back, bit cold, but a nice days walking from Eyam. I love your houses, like the Dr Skatchy too. Went to one of Lynnes talks on Fri, it was excellent, she's good too.

There are CATS in that drawing??!? I think I must be brain dead this Sunday. Hazelnut coffee, STAT!

LOL, I love your drawings, Andrea... can I ask, did you receive my email asking about the tools you use to make your pixie drawings and what sepia pens/pencils you use?
Best,

Hi Andrea,

Love this sketch - think it's one of my favourites so far - will you be doing any prints of similar pieces? Found two cats so far.. will keep looking!

Thank you, all so much guys.

Julie, i didnt know about the talk. I'd liked to have come along. Lynne is so inspirational - her work and, well, just in general!

Jennifer, I'm weeks behind with replying to my mail. I used to use the Pilot G-tec brown pen, but i dont anymore because it's not light proof at all. i now use any brown light fast pen I can get my hands on; the Multi pen, and Faber and Castell are good. For colour I use colour pencil. All different brands. No favourites, any.

Rachael, I'm currently working on prints. Should be happening very shortly. People will be able to choose the image they like.

Cheers, lovelies.

Your work is so fun and inspiring. Thank you so much for sharing it with everyone.
It took me three days but I finally found all 3 cats!

Haha! I really thought the cats were very obvious. Apparently not?

Thanks, folks.

i just now saw this post, so immediately examined it with my various specs. saw some dark shapes and thought, hey, i found the cats. but so far i can only positively identify 2 as cats, the others seem to be birds, lol

love to see how your sketching is evolving. this is quite a departure from what i'm accustomed to seeing from you, and i'm surely liking it ;)

Just lovely! I enjoy looking at your work. I really had to look, but I'm pretty sure I've found all 3. If I'm not mistaken, one cat is pretending to be a bird and is waving at us. Of course, I could be mistaken.
