feelin' alright

A few posts ago I introduced you to the Swish hairbrush. Well, it turns out I've actually drawn it before. It's on this table. Can you spot it? The answer is on my book blog HERE.

Also, talking about the book blog, it has been voted as a Froudian website of the month. That makes me happy because Brain Froud is one of my illustration heroes. Faeries by Brian Froud and Alan Lee is most probably my favourite illustrated book of all time. For those of you who've never seen it, you really really should. It is a thing of absolute beauty.

What a coincidence... I brought "Faeries" and "Good Faeries/Bad Faeries", both by Brian Froud, to my mother for inspiration!
Love the drawing... I never would've seen the brush without your explanation over there!

is it that little bugger in front of the coffee mug?! How funny to see it in perspective :)

I love this one, as usual. I love all of yours and am immensely enjoying my little zines. I can look at them over and over and find new, cool stuff every time.
Do you photograph your pictures or scan them?
I can't seem to get a scan even worth posting, so I'm figuring you must be photographing them.

Thank you, lovely ladies.

Tahirih, I always scan my work. I don't really have any advice as I'm not great at it, myself. For the zines I scanned most of the drawings at home, a few from the second zine were done at the print shop. I always scan to a really high res. This has it's problems, ie, people can rip of my work - which they have. But I still prefer to do it because you get to see all the details.

Cheers, my dears.

I love detailed drawings which you can look at for hours and still find a little something you didn't notice before! Yours are such drawings and I highly appreciate your high resolution images. I think your drawings would lose a lot if one couldn't enjoy all the tiny details by clicking and zooming. I'm so looking forward to your pixie book!

Oh, and I really like "Faeries" too! I got the book many years ago and it's still one of my favorites to look through again and again.

I can see the bristles but really can't make out the brush that well.
