one day it'll all make sense

Nearly there, folks. I've nearly finished the children's book drawings that have been taking up all my time over the last couple of weeks. I'll tell you more about it in my next post and then, I promise, back to 'normal' drawing and posting.

Oh, yeah, and this is a collection of hat pins that I found cluttering up the old dusty attic. The old dusty attic in my head, that is.

Geez, Andrea! I love all your art, but the whimsy of this hat pins drawing just sings.

What a wonderful imagination you have and I'm sure your children's book is going to be wonderful.

I love your blog and your drawings. Can hardly wait to hear about your children's book. Are you writing it along with doing the illustrations? I have also posted an award for you on my blog if you care to stop by and pick it up.

Hello again Andrea! I realise now that I have been to your blog before - I was mesmerised by your drawing of the hat, and now these lovely hat pins! I really like the twinning of your beautifully crafted drawing style, with your totally surreal mind!

I will put a link acroos from my blog.

One day I would so love to see a video, or a series of step by step photos showing how you do it. I want to know your secrets. Your art secrets that is. You can keep the rest.

Lovely. Glad the book is going well. You might be getting an influx of comments tomorrow. I am introducing a new lesson to my level 2 art students and it's an "Andrea Joseph" inspired lesson. Ball point pen drawings...and I'm breaking out the moos I ordered!

Love it. I particularly love the little house with it's tiny wild garden and that stunning spooky tree. I am very excited about this book of yours.

I noticed this evening that I'm in your blog links under 'gorgeous places to visit' - ARGH! When I saw that, I screamed! There was even some jumping up and down as I grabbed Mr Pippa to show him. I feel so honoured! So have no idea how happy you've made me!

Ooooh, thanks guys. I wasn't really expecting much of a response to this little one, so I'm extra thrilled by the comments.

This one was a surprise to me. I just sat down with the pen and book and a few hours later this was drawn. I love it when that happens. I seem to like thos e drawings better than the ones that take a lot of thought and planning.

Melissa, thank you! It's an amazing thought that across the pond there will be a class inspired by my drawing. I feel unworthy - but that's why I see a therapist!! Haha.

Lynne, thank you too. your blog was a real find. Very informative - as well as gorgeous art work. And you're from just up the road.

Pip, you're welcome. It IS gorgeous. Like you!

Cheers, everyone. Hope I've answered all the questions.

Hey, what's a hatpin? Okay, but I haven't seen on in forty years. Delightful drawing as usual.
Good luck with the children's book - a great achievement to even get the pages done.

These are so so charming, Andrea. I had a hat pin once that belonged to my grandmother. It had a pretty opal on it, but was a wicked sharp thing, so I had the stone put into a ring and ditched the pin. I think that your stick pins are beautiful.

Oh my, magical and beautiful as always! When does the book come out?
