Everyday Matters challenge #43 draw something ceramic; kitchen ornaments. In an earlier post (perfume bottle) I experimented in using both ballpoint and pencil together in the same drawing. This picture takes that idea one step further. In the bottom of the two ornaments I have blended both graphite and ballpoint. I quite like it.

You've somehow managed to make them look satisfyingly solid and yet fragile at the same time, how do you do that! I like the blend of graphite and pen, it adds an extra dimension to the drawing. They are lovely!
These two birds are so pretty! I especially like the blue rooster. I used to have a ceramic rooster that looked very much like yours - it was a cream pitcher and the beak was the spout, the tail was the handle.
I quite like this combination as well!!! Mrana is right, you really do a wonderful job of making the pieces look solid and fragile. I love taking a tour of the things around your home.
Oh yes! Pen and graphite make a terrific combo!! These pieces are so "round," it amazes me how you do that!!!
Thank you all - I'm happy with these two too!
They're adorable! So gently drawn. You sure make the bic pen more than writing tool! Nice work!
I love your shading-style...it looks so soft :)
Great drawings!
I do love that mix at the bottom as well -- it is so subtle and neat. The things surrounding you in your living quarters make it seem like a fairy tale. You have a way of making reality look dreamy.
Seems to be a great technique! You have a certain way of making things look so incredibly soft and inviting, I really like your style. You don´t just draw things from life, you do something with them that makes them your own. Amazing.
Wow thanks for the kind comments. I'm really flattered.
The combination of the pen and graphite - and the way you blended them so seamlessly - really does add depth. Very nice!
I quite love it!!! Wonderfully smooth and interesting shape!
