why i went missing

a) Thank you to everyone who has ordered my little Molezine. Aaw.
b) I do hope you like them. Yikes.
c) I've been so busy with packing and posting them that I haven't had time to do anything else, including draw. Phew.
d) All packing was done with an excruciatingly painful, and probably life threatening, paper cut on the thumb. Ouch.
e) Every single order, zines and prints, that has been placed up to this point in time (15:44 GMT on Friday afternoon) has now been posted. Yipeeee.
f) If you want one before Christmas, and live anywhere but the UK, order right now. Shazam.
g) It seems I've lost the ability to take a half decent photograph. Damn.
h) It's back to drawing. Yay!

THANK YOU ALL. I'm touched by the amazing response and I'm cream crackered. I was up til 3:30 last night/morning packaging them all up. Time for nice sit down and a cuppa, I think. AND I'm going to eat an entire packet of Jaffa Cakes. Do you have a problem with that?
Cheers, my dears.

Oh lord I do love a jaffa cake! Or 50. . .

For the nonUKians, Jaffa cakes are little round cakey-based things with some orange jelly stuff in a pat in the middle and coated with chocolate on top. Personally, I think the only way to eat them is to nibble around the edge, peel the cake off the orange bit, eat the cake, nibble the chocolate off and then the orangey bit last! Yums!

Thanks, guys.

Kim, Moonbeams, thank you. Now I don't have to go through that! You are, of course, completely right. You have to nibble around the edges. The other evening I lost the orange jelly bit form one of my Jaffas!! I still haven't found it. I dread the day I do.

Cheers, guys. I really do hope you like them. It's so gorgeous to be sending my work out, around the world, like this. And even though I was up until 3:30 I still loved every minute of it.

Thanks everyone.

I shouldn't have read this. Now I will be a bit obsessively checking for mail. Thanks. Oh, I'm having my students do the "Andrea Joseph" project again this year. They're enamored with you.

Better than I could have hoped ... what was even more exciting is that it's labelled #1 ... so does that mean there are more to come?!
'tis me birthday today so waited until then to open it - a bundle of joy.
Have an extra jaffa cake on me :-)

Andrea: Guess what I got today? Your Zine! Guess what day it is? I just got out of the hospital December 9. I almost past out on my desk here at home. I got so dizzy so fast. I do not know how I hung on to finish my last customer and turn the computer off.
My head was bursting. I had a Stem Stroke and I have double vision. I will be in therapy. ON Tons of meds.
I am blessed by your zine coming today . What a treasure.
Everything works but the eyes: So, I am blessed. As you can see I can type with one eye with Pirate Patch.
Circle of Hugs to All! PS It is so small you cannot see it on the MRI. Which is noisy.

Are you ragging on that photo? Because I think the color and composition is wonderful! (and it's such simple content).

While I understand you might be a tough self-critic and block out showers of praise in order to reach new heights..

cut yourself a break once in a while, eh? You sure do slam yourself a lot on this blog!

Hi Andrea,
I received your Squares(?) Illustration this evening when I got home to my parents house. Ive spent the last 2 hours reading and re-reading it. I think its fantastic! :D
I ordered a Molezine, which you acknolwedged on you're postcard, but it wasnt in the envelope. Is it being sent separatly?
I have found some of your work on Moo aswell. Brilliant stuff! :D

If you could let me know about the Zine, that would be great.

Happy Chanuaka, Merry Christmas and a Wonderful 2010! Laura xXx

I got mine in the mail yesterday ! A mysterious little package covered in foreign stamps - how very exciting at Christmas. AND a lovely present from me for me inside. Andrea, your drawings are even more fascinating and detailed in person than they are on screen. Thank you ! Many jaffas to you !

Thank you all, guys.

Sherrie, sorry to hear this. Hope you are beginning to feel better.

RJ, I think it's partly the good old British self deprecating sense of humour as well as my self esteem issues. I think that's what's known as doublt whammy.

Thanks, girls. So glad you liked them.

Cheerio, my ducks.

hello! I came across your blog randomly & have compulsively been going through all of your archives (yeah, bit slow at work today) and absolutely LOVE your work. It is quite fabulous. I was wondering if it was too late to order one of your molezines?

I'm from Maryland, USA (yup, i'm a Yank) but my gran is from Boston Lincolnshire and we love Jaffa cake and my favorite are Crunchie bars!

have a great day! Cheers!
