I was thinking about this stuff yesterday, before settling down to Neil Young night on BBC4. Five hours of Neil. Documentary, film and, of course, music. I love Neil Young. He's a true artist. Yes, Neil Young makes me happy. Music makes me happy. BBC4 makes me happy (surely the greatest tv channel). The crackling fire on a chilly night and the cat curled up on my lap both make me happy. So it's not all that bad.
Moleskines make me happy too. As does a Japanese Moleskine dropping onto my doormat. It makes me happy that Gabi's little Moley fitted perfectly on the top of this composition. And, that there's still room for growth. Of course, the glorious work of MoleyX12 group makes me very happy. Drawing. Art. Art makes me very very happy.
So I'm now feeling much more cheerful just thinking about all of those things. Now I'm going to have to think of some sad stuff. 'Cos I'm only ever truly happy when I'm feeling blue.
I pray that you will be blessed by some wonderfully positive news TODAY!
Yes, music and art make many of us happy...add in food and love and that would be quite heavenly. If only the outside world would never intrude, right?
I just love this. The little one added to the pile is just perfect. You feel like you want to pick them up and peep inside.
Happiness is a sad song, right?
I heard "Alabama" (from Harvest) on Friday night and wow -- it sent me back to my childhood.
I love this one. Which reminds me i still have a Moley to draw in and send to Gabi!
I'm floored that that's a drawing. I swore it was a photo. Great work!
Wow, wow, wow! Great work!
Hey my signed print arrived today! It is fantastic and will be treasured. I look at it and want to create stuff, I like the narrative, the 'mistakes' the flow, the detail and the irony of signing it in pencil! A great piece of work, so glad I happened upon your site. Oh and 'Harvest Moon' is one of my all time favourites.
Perfect combination of a good drawing with some excellent words and a sufficient amount of good humour!
a beautiful stack of books. good show! don't let that big cynical world out there keep you from making art!
I just assumed this was a photo until I enlarged it and noticed your initials. Incredible!
You said it all there Andrea, Neil young couldn't have put it better himself. When I'm in love with my own misery I turn to David Sylvain.
Love the moley's Andrea! they always make me happy! And when I can't take the all the crummy news in the world, nothing lifts me up more then listening to ABBA!
I'm really pleased with this. I didn't realise, when I made the original drawing, that it needed a little something extra. For me, the little Moley on the top finishes off the composition just right.
Craft Junkie, you ain't wrong there.
France, 'happiness is a sad song'. Ah, I love that. I shall put it in my long term memory for another time! I'll post Gabi's Moley soon. It's gorgeous.
Stephen H, I LOVE that album too. Actually, I love them all. Even his bad ones. Glad you liked the print.
Stephen G, I have a friend just like you. I've never really got on with David Sylvian myself, but my buddy loves him. For me, it's Portishead when I really need a sadness fix. Or, Kate Bush. Or Joni...
Thank you ALL. And, Jackie, you can't beat a bit of Abba, can you?
I follow your blog regularly, your drawings and moleys are outstanding. What I am most jealous and envious about is 5 hours of Neil Young. Wish it would be broadcast in the US! Saw Greendale concert in C. Spgs, Co a few years ago, it was awesome - he is awesome!
amazing drawing! i stumbled upon your blog, and i am quite drawn in.
Being a bibliophile, just LOVE this stack of books. Your artistry continually amazes....Keep sharing, just love visiting your blog.
Make this a print! I WANT IT. I can't believe this isn't a photo.
Thanks guys, you make my day.
