EDM#97 Draw a gift or present

Most people who visit these drawing blogs will already know of the very talented France Belleville of Wagonized. I'd just like to tell you about how generous she is too. France has recently been working on a series of classic car drawings. I asked her whether she had ever illustrated - my all time favourite car - the gorgeous Morris Minor. Within a few days two drawings of these beauties appeared on her site. One even had my initials on the number plate. As always with France, they are great drawings; technically brilliant and full of character. A few days later I received this picture, in the mail, all the way from New Jersey.

I want to thank France for this gift. I will treasure it always.

Wow Andrea- This is really special. I'm sure it will please France as well. There is no feeling as great as giving a piece of your artwork to someone and knowing that they really love it.

Well, thanks everyone for the kind words.

France, I din't really do your picture justice here. You can see why I don't draw cars!! Thanks again for the picture, it is framed - I am just looking for the 'right' place to hang it.

Cheers all and Cheerios!

Such a nice story, and beautifully illustrated. I love France's work as well, and it's interesting to see the meeting of your two very different styles.

Yes, I think it's unanimous- France's work is brilliant!

Casey, I hadn't even thought of that; the meeting of the two styles.

Jane you're right it's amazing how blogging, and the EDM and Flickr group, has introduced us all to people who share the same interests. People who we can discuss drawing and pencils and the love of art supplies and our ideas with. People who live on the other side of the world. It is amazing and I love it!

Cheers guys!
