taking care of business

I took delivery of my new Moo cards today and I'm liking them a lot! They are very tiny but very cute. There's a few more examples on my Flickr page HERE.

Also I'd just like to thank everyone for taking part in my little competition a couple of weeks back. There were more than a hundred guesses over the various places (here, Flickr and the EDM forum). The winner was Emma Reid who guessed that all the items in this picture were found in a churchyard. She chose the two purse pictures below as her prize.

Hi Andrea,
I've seen quite a few Moo cards on Flickr, so I'm familiar with the idea. Yours are great!

Your not kidding! All those items found in a churchyard? That's amazing. Who drops what, when, why? Our Geelong East church yard would only glean cigarettes and birds' feathers, but... you never know.

Oh! I meant to comment on your shoe!! Such a sweet shoe, and then to have the little moo card of your pumps inside, too adorable!!

They do look gorgeous. I love the way you have displayed the shoes in the shoe, looks so cute.

I have a set of Moo cards myself and I love them, but seeing yours makes me want to do mine all over! By the way - if you didn't already know - they will fit perfectly into the Jones Soda candy tin, or the Starbucks gum tin, and other similar reuseable cans (a little acetone and a lot of elbow grease will take the paint off the cans too). I know sometimes you can find new tins on eBay, but usually you have to buy more than one so I like to re-use something... Anywhooo - your cards are fabulous, not that I would expect anything less, and I'm sure you'll enjoy having them.

On another note - as I was looking thru your flickr I remembered I keep meaning to ask you what kind of pens you use - specifically for the sepia (and when you're not using ballpoint obviously). I'm sure you've probably already said somewhere but if you don't mind repeating....

Those Moo cards are so perfect for your art. I can imagine a whole set of them framed too.

Thank you all,

I'm so pleased with these little cards - too cute! I'm already planning my next set.

Juj, I use a Pilot G-tec pen - for both the black and sepia penwork. I really like it. It's the first pen I've become attatched too!

Cheers.

Looooove the Moo cards -- what are the dimensions in centimeters??

andrea joseph's sketchblog said...

thanks guys,

France they are 2.5 x 7cm. I chose 17 drawings to put on them - some worked, others didn't. I think this one with the three shoes is one of the best. They're cute though, it's just choosing the right picture. And they are cheap enough to do a bit of experimenting. I'm going to send off for my next lot soon.

Cheers!

The Moo cards are so cute ... I've been wanting to get some myself but don't think any of my drawings will 'translate' to that size ... yours look so cool, they'd make perfect business cards.

Thanks so much for the lovely drawings, Andrea!

Your Moo cards are gorgeous - I especially like the one with the shoes.

I handed out some of my Moo cards last week when I was at art college. The people I gave them to were delighted with them and so I had to show them the website so they could make some of their own.

There are some little peppermint tins on sale here in the UK that fit the cards perfectly, and are a great size to carry in a handbag. The brand name is "Little i" and the tins are pink. I saw some in Tesco the other day.

Hi Andrea, thanks for the comments on my blog. I'm delighted to have a link on your blog, that's cool! I am on flickr but haven't updated it in months. Finally, for the converse shoes drawing I used ink pen and markers. Love your shoe pictures too.

Also, just saw your photos of Flo on your flickr page, she could be my Lotty's twin sister!! Only difference is Lotty has half a black sock on left hind paw. Spooky though!!

Me again, last comment! Thanks for the tip on Moo cards - they look brilliant!!

Thanks guys, I've just had a second set of Moos throught the post today.

Emma, thanks for that tip on the mint tins. I'm going to stock up.

Mariana, that is the only problem with them - choosing the right images. I'm still experimenting. Some just do not work although I'm sure you have lots of stuff that would work brilliantly!

Thanks Heartful!
