playing with packhams

I've noticed that pears seem to be quite a popular subject matter for some of the illustrators from these drawing blogs. I know exactly why; I love them too. They have a great figure for drawing. I enjoy playing around with their shapes. My favourites are the short stubby varieties like Packhams or Williams.

  2. Sigh. How do you make just the simplest things brilliant with only a few delicate strokes?

  11. You are so talented! I wish I could draw like you. I have just started drawing due to the suggestions from some "creativity" books I have been reading lately. I went to Lake Tahoe on vacation and it started snowing. I sat on the couch next to the fireplace and drew the scene out the window. It didn't come out too bad. But I'm still working on lines . . . these have great shading!

Thanks for checking out my blog rachel's bite.
