Very beautiful work. I love your style and use of colour. Your work has a very ethereal quality. I have put a link to your blog and my blogs so that others may experience your wonderful art.
Oh Andrea, you are being way too hard on yourself. I love this one! But, I also really like your honesty...it makes your work even more engaging. Thank you for that.
How do you make a clothes peg look so good??!! I love the way its so decoratively set on the page too, framed by the writing. If this is crap .... hmmmm (wandering off in a daze)where's that brick wall again?
Loved that last line about it not fitting on the bloody page!!! I mean, this is such an incredible drawing! I blow it up on my computer, look at it in details and it appears even more intriguing. Ethereal is a word that often came to mind when looking at your delicate work.
Wow thanks everyone! I do actually like this drawing despite my little rant. I've just had one of those frustrating drawing days. So I'm actually pleased to have had something 'post-worthy'!! Cheers.
"A peg is a hug" ... gorgeous drawing Andrea. Reminds me of this summer when my friends and I were into the "pegging" game where you had to peg people without them knowing - and if you discovered a peg yourself, you had to pass it on. At one point we got into the traditional wooden pegs as you could write things like "love" and "hug" with marker pens on them. :)
This is beautiful, and thanks for posting the link to your friend Toby Downing -- wow, some fun stuff there. And his sketchbook pages are great too. Don't be too tough on yourself; you are amazing.

ReplyDeleteThanks Mithi - I take it you were pegging people who were in on the game and not complete strangers? Now that could be dangerous!
