i've got a pen in my pocket does that make me a writer?

It's so hard to get going sometimes. You start thinking this funk may never end. I did intend to do a pen review on the right hand side of the page, but then I just decided to go with what was troubling me at the moment. It's more relevant and maybe it'll free up some space inside.

You know the drill; click on the drawing for a better view.

Yup. That's one funk you got there. But I'm glad you shared (although, you could have passed a few Maltesers around as well ;) ).

Happy funking!

could i have a spot of tea with my maltesers, please? btw, what the heck are maltesers? lol

yeah, i'm that way about writing or working in my journal. i'll find all kinds of other things to do. so so frustrating.

the plus side? you made another fantastic drawing which especially appeals to this pen fetishist, lol ;)

ha, i just googled maltesers. they're similar to Whoppers, the malted milk balls made by the Hershey chocolate company. now i completely understand the addiction ;)

Poor you, this sounds exactly like I get...You know the only cure for how you feel is drawing and that once you start, all will get better. But how do you start?!

The only way I have found around it is to force myself to sit and draw repeating abstract paterns, the more complex and detailed the better. Even if I don't like what is coming out on the paper, the act of taking a pen for a walk and getting lost in the detail somehow clears my head and makes it work again.

Haha. I have exactly the same problem Andrea. I look at everything now and want to draw it. I poured a can of beans into a pan and before I started to heat them up wondered if I should start to draw them. Never did though.

I've fought my funk and the funk won several times. sometimes I'd win. But I have recently realized that sometimes, like with any activity (even working at the office!) a person needs a break, and needs to de compress, and needs to stop defining herself as what she produces. at least that's what I do, because I have a tendency to have a strict Puritan work ethic. It can be a funk.

I just orderred one of your zines. Very nice!

I like to wallow in a funk, myself; just swoon onto the sofa like a delicate flower and start wailing on about how I might as well let wild animals gnaw off my hands since I am not using them. And when anyone wants to offer me helpful suggestions for snapping out of it, or trite comments about how it will pass, I like to suggest that they go off and have carnal relations with themselves.

Your book Jack e Alice in Italian, can I order that from you? Or should I contact the Italian publisher. I would like 2 copies before the end of July. I live in the Netherlands and I have not much faith in the Italian postal service. Just let me know. Thanks. Helen

Wish I could do as well in my drawing funks! I grew more and more anxious reading the right side. Wow. Anyway, you drew something great right in the midst of your funk - just keep going - you can do it!!
