all the weaving of my dreams

Well, sorry to leave you hanging like that. I've been a little busy. And, I've been struggling with this drawing. It's been a love hate relationship. I've given up on it a couple of times, then I've given in and worked on it some more, then finally, after a couple of weeks, I finished it. It's another drawing from, erm, 'my book' (!). Which is another reason I've been away for so long - getting ready for Bologna. Yikes, folks, it's getting close.

So, click on the drawing to get a better view. Go on, stick your beaks in.

Amazing work as always! I love the detail and the colors. It reminds me of a winter hat I loved.

Very very tacitile! Great texture, great colours. So what it took so long? Look at the result. I am glad you came back to it. One of the comments asked: Do you draw for yourself or for others? Interesting question! Do you dare answer :-) - I have another question on one of my blogs (www.gypsyexpress.com - For Women Only) - do you dare answer that, too? lol

It is fantastic. I love it. I am fond of green.

That's so beautifully drawn - tell me it's not biro! Unless you've got a really cool selection of colours... :-)

Anyway whatever the medium it's wonderfully fluffy and really life like. I still love the notes you add to your work. You should be in marketing. ;)

You're going to brighten a lot of days at the exhibition.

Wow...how much do I love this?! I can't even tell you. I'm a knitter and a drawer...so you can figure it out!

I wanted to tell you (very late) that I loooove the print I bought for you... and I will blog about it when I get it up in my little room. Just taking me longer than I thought to do that!

pedalpower said...

oops...bought FROM you...I really need to read before I hit "publish"

Thank you all SO much, folkies.

This one took ages. A real struggle, but I think I kinda like it now.

Brendan, that is a huge question which I don't think I could answer. No, I just don't think I could answer that.

Rachel, yes, it is biro. And, yes, I have lots and lots of colours. All extremely cheap.

Joyce, thank you.

Cheers, m'dears.

andrea, you are now BACK!
it has been awhile since you drew something new.
what happened?

Somehow you'll escape
all that waiting and staying.
You'll find the bright places
where Boom Bands are playing.

With banner flip-flapping,
once more you'll ride high!
Ready for anything under the sky.
Ready because you're that kind of a guy!

Oh, the places you'll go! There is fun to be done!
There are points to be scored. there are games to be won.
And the magical things you can do with that ball
will make you the winning-est winner of all.
Fame! You'll be famous as famous can be,
with the whole wide world watching you win on TV.

This is wonderful and I love it. the fluffiness jumps out at you. The text makes it unique and special and so glad it will appear in your book,it has to be a big book that you can put on the table and ask friends to browse while you cook, I cook really slow ... :-)

oh my gosh this is beautiful Andrea! Can't believe you patience and attention to detail

I need a good spring cap to cheer me up here in muddy Janesville. Your cap would be just the ticket for my eyes that are so hungry for green. What a delightful lot of detail you have woven into this noggin.

This is really fabulous - I was given the link to your blog via dinahmow, and I'm very much enjoying your work here. I'm a sucker for hand-written captions and commentary combined with pictorial elements, which you do very well.

Good luck in Bologna. I went 2 years ago. Rather overwhelming with the sheer number of things to see!

It's cOol to see some nice colored ballpoint pen pictures . It show me that I'm not the only one crasy about this technique !! C U

It's awesome! However, I do think it'd be easier to knit this hat than to have drawn it - and I don't knit too well. :)

Do you ever come to Maine? I would very much like to watch you draw.

Good luck in Bologna! (Now that I have realized you're not illustrating a book about the lunchmeat but going to the place. Silly me!)

Andrea, your work is truly inspiring! I adore all the textures! Keep 'em coming! :)

Thanks thanks tahnks everybody.

Sue, funnily enough I've always wanted to go to maine. It is there right on the top of my list - I think it's down to John Irving being my favourite writer. I'm a very reluctant public sketcher though. And, that's down to being so shy!

Cheers, everyone, your comments make my day.
