a song for you

I've always thought that this drawing would make a good Father's Day card. Or, a card, in general, for dads. Doesn't have to be a specific occasion. I just think it's an appropriate image. Which I'm sure many of us can relate to.

Happy Birthday, Dad.

I always admire your shading.

The children called my husband their personal ATM machine, so we can all relate to your wallet image ;D. Now that they're grown up, they don't get away with that trick (or cash ;D) anymore!
Your drawing is, of course. splendid.

Growing up we always gave my father a new wallet for his birthday, fathers day and christmas. I love the image... brings back lots of childhood memeories.

WOW. Beautiful. Atmospheric - which is what I look for in representational drawing to take it beyond a photo... love it.

I love this one, Dad = wallet in this house too, only mine is much slimmer!

Yes, I'm sure fathers' wallets evoke great memories in all of us.
Lovely drawing, Andrea.

Yes! It's perfect! Most dads have a well-worn wallet like this. Delightful!! :)

It's amazing how this makes me feel. My dad always used to clink around spare change in his pockets... whenever we walked down the street together at night, I would always tell him to stop doing that! But he would never do it.

Actually, he doesn't do that anymore. Maybe it's because he's found a much more stable job, or maybe it's just because he's a new wallet.

But now, he doesn't jingle spare change around anymore. Maybe it's because he's found a much more stable job, or maybe it's just because he has a new wallet.

Open and empty would be an appropriate image for my wallet as it relates to being a father.

Smiling here - my dad's wallet never looked this pristine. Also giggling at my word verification = "fooker." Who thinks these up?

It's so incredibly perfect... What I love in your drawings, is that they're realistic, but with a little twist, that make them more perfect and beautiful than the real things. Congratulations for the Bologna event, it's wonderful, and I'm not surprised at all that they chose you : )!

Thank you all, folks.

I appologise for the lack of posts recently. Life has got a bit distracting, especially with the upcoming Bologna event (eeek! so excited). Anyway, there's a new one on it's way tomorrow.

Thank you all for the kind words. I really appreciate them. Really really really appreciate them. I'm glad I stirred up some dad memories for you too.

Cheers.

Oooh, oooh there's a new picture! Love this - you've got the lighting so perfect, and it's so shiny... I can almost smell it!

You must be really excited about Bologna - it's amazing you found the time to do this! I still have no idea how you manage to train your biros not to blob. It must be magic.

That's so realistic, Andrea. You made me think of what a wonderful dad I have. He's always there for us no matter what.
