going places

Ok, kids. I'm back with you. Really, I am. Thanks for continuing to visit even though there hasn't been much new work for you to see. It's going to be all about the Moleskines over the next few weeks. I've got some endings and some new beginnings to take care of.

From top to bottom;
1. The Sepia One (I'm so close to finishing this one it hurts).
2.The Ballpointy-Journally-Memory-Could-Turn-Into-Spare-One-One (a new one. I've only drawn on the inner cover and haven't quite decided on the direction of this Moley, although I know it is going to be strictly ballpoint).
3.Spare Moley (very nearly finished).
4. The Brand Spanking New One (hasn't even been opened. I have lots of ideas for this one. Lots.)
5. The Diary (where I am planning world domination)

  14. It looks like a photo, with something more. You always put this "something more" in your drawings, that's just your style, and it's awesome!

  19. Wow, thank you all guys. This is another one I was really unsure of before posting. I'm glad I posted it now.

Suzanne, I am looking forward to getting he next Moley. It's been nice to have the pressure off for a while, but I'm actually missing having a little Moley around the house now. Can't wait to see what you've done with it too.

Deedee, they sort of have themes except for Spare Moley, but they are pretty organic. I never intended to theme them before starting.

Cheers, everyone. You make my day.

  20. Oooo how exciting.

  21. I like how you have themed them, but not really. I often like the idea of a theme to start, but just never seem to keep with it.

  22. Holy smokes! I thought this was a photograph.

  23. Hahahaha! World Domination!?! You are just too brilliant!!! This drawing ... wicked I tell you!

  24. Another person that first thought it was a photograph. I loved zooming in and seeing your work. I often wish I could zoom in even closer. Ever a chance you could some how give us a really close look at a portion of one of your pieces?

You're getting all molied up. Where do you find time to work in your children's book?

  25. Sigh...I love this. Just love it. That's all.

  26. Argh... I'm just so glad I'm not the only one thinking along these lines.

I clearly can't draw as well as you... but I'm all about the "one Moleskine per idea" line of thinking... even if that idea is simply gallimaufry.

I really do love this. All of this.

Hell... I've created my own Cahier full of nothing but grocery store receipt transcripts, and somehow flipping through it, it's almost interesting to read through.

I'm planning a Moleskine sketchbook at the moment with my great "graphic novel" story (i.e. non-funny comic book), and I'm really interested in writing a novel in a Moleskine.

I have no interest in making a penny off of my creations... so... especially considering how unlikely that might be... laying these down into my own quality bound notebook is more than enough to sate my personal needs.

    Awesome.

  27. Cheers, folks.

Rick, I'm sure that is entirely possible. Actually I was going to do that with the chilrens drawings but forgot to do so. On that subject, I am giving the kids stuff a little rest for a while. Only a small little while.

Hossrex, that's really interesting and funnily enough it's a very similar idea I have for my new Moleskine. It's why, also, I need to get a couple out of the way before I begin that one as I imagine it could take up a lot f time and energy.

    Thanks you all, guys.
