you made up my mind for me

I hadn't planned to do this work in progress thingy, but there's a time and place for everything. And this is one of those times. I guess that these many layered drawings are just right for showing that step by step process. And, of course, it means I get lots of posts out of the one drawing. Just what you need when you're going through a dry spell. So, you see, my mind was made up for me. So easily.

Can't wait to see the layers being built! I've always loved your work and wondered how you did it - not that I could ever develop that patience. I'd rather hand quilt a full quilt = which I do have the patientce for.

Andrea, maybe you should try another medium, something that would be fun to paint or draw with. Just to losen up a little...
just to smile...and start breathing...feeling light...

btw. your work is beautiful:) and the idea with the bugs...just brilliant:)))

Looks like the top of my desk - never knew I worked on top of a piece of art.

Am SO loving this recent post themed stuff (this form the girl who collects interesting inside-pattered envelopes!).

Thanks too for that link - had never seen that video ... really lovely :) Am considering whether I want to take up the animation elective next year ... hmmmm...

Cheers, chucks.

Shirley, I bet the quilting takes just as much patience as this kind of drawing.

Rick, snap. Every surface in my place looks like this.

Mithi, snap too. I too have a collection of interesting inside patterned envelope. And, I bet you don't get told that often!

Cheers Anetka. I definately need to loosen up.

Oh yeah, and good video isn't it? I might be biased, of course, as I am totally obsessed with the man. But still, it's a good vid.

Oh yeah, a bit of work-in-progress showing! Funny to see you can start on the right and make your way "south-west" so to say. I always seem to be "south-east" bound myself.
And i learned a new expression after watching the Paul Weller video. Someone commented and wrote this: he always seems to come up with the goods. he is still the dogs bollocks. The dog's bollocks. Ha. Gosh i love this language.

It's going to be great seeing the progress. It's beautiful already. Are you left handed (seeing that you begin with the right side)?

Thanks, folks.

France, yeah, that is a phrase that's used often! I agree too. There is something great about the way the language is used over here. I think it's quite creative, and playful.

Kazumiwannabe, I'm not left handed, no.

Actually I start these drawings in different places (on the page) every time.

Cheers.
