foot soldier

Well, this drawing isn't exactly rocking my world but it's one page closer to finishing this Moleskine. I am desperate to finish it and to start the new one. Seriously, desperate. I have an idea, a concept, for the next one but more of that another time.

After creating a highly laboured drawing like the one in the last post(s) I always feel totally wiped out. So it's a good time to do something simple. Basically, a little colouring in. To me it seems like I've spent the last couple of years drawing shoes and socks. Turns out I' haven't actually drawn that many. See the whole set of foot furniture HERE.

These are great. I like the way you cropped the drawing. Nice subtle detail too.

They really are great. And I'm looking forward to hearing the 'theme' for the new Moleskine. I have yet to finish a Moleskine, so I really am very excited for you.

i'm so crazy about this series. i've wanted to draw all of my shoes for years and find it vicariously satisfying that you have actually done yours. i resorted to the instant gratification of the camera... your images are so rich and alive! great work!

Cute as all hell. Gosh they're cute.
The composition is brilliant -- you always have the right feel for how to place things on a Moleskine.
And boy can i relate to the post-drawing exhaustion -- that's when i pull out my sneakers (trainers!) or Birkenstocks and draw.
Ooh i got a new pair of Birkenstocks by the way. They are as un-sexy as they come. Gotta draw them to show you :-)

Your artwork is stunning. I keep coming back to see what you are up to. I enjoy this drawing! I like the colors you chose and the curvy shape of the shoes. Incredible.

Thank you, everyone.

Edgar, this as a quickie for me. A couple of hours, perhaps.
France, can't wait to see your new Berks. Because, of course, you'll be drawing them. At least once!
Thanks Sue for the award.

Cheers!
