just to catch a flame
England's Glory made in Sweden. Who'd have thunk it? Amazing the stuff you find out through drawing. Another piece of useless information I'll file away somewhere no doubt. I like to think it'll all come in handy when I'm a contestant on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
A few posts ago I asked you whether you could guess the theme of this drawing. It wasn't that easy unless, of course, you are a Paul Weller anorak like me. The answer was the classic Stanley Road album by Weller. You can see all the answers to the clues HERE. And, if you don't already have this album in your collection then you SHOULD!

Great to have you back Andrea, love the composition of this one! And (whispering)I've been listening to Take That recently too!
Great composition! Weller does a great version of Early Morning Rain that's been in my head for about three years.
I'm not familiar with Paul Weller, so I went over to iTunes and sampled a few. Hmmm, where to begin? Love this drawing. IT's simple and very very complicated all at once.
I think you actually have to live in England to appreciate Weller's solo career. I've tried and failed several times.
Lovely matches, Andrea! Especially the burnt ones, and even more especially the burnt one in the lower right!
Well, swipe me! I have been back to that drawing several times over the Christmas break and I just couldn't pick it, except that it seemed vaguely late 60s to me.I muddled around things like "Baker Street" and early Beatles. Even Jethro Tull!
Now, of course, I have to find some Weller!
A fantasticly tricky one and I'm looking forward to the next "quiz!"
OH! there is another important point to these drawings...by making us search, you force us to really LOOK at the drawing and that is a good thing!(Well, it makes me more focussed!)
Insanely great work.
As almost all yours!
I love your style.
Keep on rock! ;-)
Amazing amazing amazing! You absolutely blow my mind Andrea
Oh, I love this Andrea! Wicked! I dunno why, but this drawing makes me want to pick up each match and place them neatly back in the matchbox! That says a lot about me, doesn't it? Ack!
Thanks guys,
Jason, you may be right. Perhaps Weller is a British thing. I s'pose you have to like the voice too. I LOVE it, and to me he just keeps on getting better.
Eric, you're right and you've got me playing it now.
Dianhmow, thanks for the interest. I'll get onto the next one right away.
Felicity, we shouldn't be ashamed about listening to TakeThat. We should shout about it.....on second thoughts, let's not!
Cheers Juj, Jo, Cris and Sherry.
