I can't believe that I've gone and done another cassette drawing as, quite frankly, the first one was a pain in the arse. I was going to make this one more simple, but about 6 hours into it I realised that wasn't going to be the case. No kidding.
It seems my last post (guess the album) was far too easy. So here's another, which I think may be a little more difficult. In this one I'm looking for the musician/s who inspired this drawing.
**The answer to this one is Rufus Wainwright, and you can see notes on the clues HERE. Thanks for the comments and guesses folks.**
I love your tapes Andrea! What a fabulous tribute to ... uh, Rufus Wainwright?
ReplyDeleteI am going insane! And now that i've read Joan's message, i can't help being influenced by it!
ReplyDeleteOne thing's for sure: i am listening to Antony & The Johnsons because of it. You made me want to pull out the CD.
My first thought was Leonard Cohen (didn't the McGarrigle sisters play in "I'm Your Man"?) -- but the Wainwrights sound like a plausible solution: sister, father...
Darn.
The drawing is exquisite -- and given the details, i can believe it took you that long to draw.
Oh gosh... the song "What Can I Do" By Antony and The Johnsons... Mama, help me to live!
ReplyDeleteLEAD VOCAL= !!!
I just found your blog, great stuff! I will look around some more, and be a return visitor.

ReplyDeleteyour clues are way too cryptic for me! perhaps im too young :P
I can't believe you did either! the last drawing was magnificent and this one just as amazing. I'm not even trying to guess the artist, I am just in awe of your work...

Anrdea this rocks!!!! You are so talented and patient.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to find out hte answer!
Gosh, I'm so stumped I can't even offer a guess :( BUT, I sure love the drawing. You should start selling prints...or better yet, originals!
ReplyDeleteCheers folks.
ReplyDeleteWell, I do think this one was more difficult even thought Jo got it straight away! Yes, it indeedy was Rufus Wainwright. I'm guessing that Rufus' work is not as widely known as CSNY though (I should really stop talking about all the artists I really love if I want to make these a little harder). Anyway, I'll put all the answers on Flickr - as with the last drawing.
France, I adore the Anthony and the Johnson's album. The track 'What Can I do' is one of my faves. Such a beautiful album.
Thank you all.
Come pick me up...I am blown away with the intracacies of this art!!! Stunning.
ReplyDeleteJust stopped by your blog for a little visit - and again I'm totally amazed at your detailed and precise style! Fabulous! Did you really write all of those little words around your boots!!
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't believe you did this again, it's amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies.
ReplyDeleteShirley, I certainly did write all that stuff. I didn't know what I was going to write about I just let it pour out onto the page.
