Back in the Moleskine sketchbook, I haven't used it for a long time. I'd forgotten how good the paper is. This drawing is my response to Everyday Matters Challenge #130 'draw some school supplies'. Oh, and don't tell the teacher but I carved my initials in the desk with the compass.

ReplyDeletegreat stuff, so warm and textured, blimey i haven't seen those instruments in years. i only just started using a ruler again last week. protractors! those triangle things! compasses that don't point north! and those things with two points on, well. i think they are for maps, but in my school they were for protection.

Pete, as soon as I saw that tin I had to buy it - to draw of course It is a long time since I've used any of those instruments and I really don't even know what you do with most of them!

ReplyDeleteChurchmouse, I actually used both a sepia pen and pencil in this one. I drew it all with the pen and then put a little shading in with the pencil. I think it's the additional pencil that gives it that blended look.
