I pottered around the house all day today - like I had nothing else to do! I would actually love to spend all my time pottering. I can't think of anything better. Apart from draw, that is. Drawing and pottering. A good day. Anyway, one of these drawings took around 15 minutes the other took considerably longer. Take a guess which is which.
Part of the pottering plan was I to have a clear out in the kitchen. Go through the cupboards. Throw out some of the herbs and stuff that were out of date. I found that that was about 95% of them. I reconsidered and decided that actually most of them may 'come in useful in the future'. Take these porcini, for example, I'll get at least one more drawing out of them.

Oh these are totally gorgeous Andrea!!! WOWEE. Love looking at your art.
That jar is especially fantastic!!
Both of these are terrific. The color of the jar of herbs is stunning, glowing. I envy your pottering, too (I'm embarrassed to say I had to look that word up); at least we can potter vicariously through your lovely drawings.
lol! Not sure which of these I like the best!
I can barely remember those pre-baby days when I had the time to potter, or "pootle around" as we say in this household. Nice to know that your life is civilized enough to allow pottering time! Have you ever read "How To Be Idle"? A splendid book.
I like the greens in your drawing of the lime leaves!
Thanks guys!
Anthony, I did wonder whether this word was used in the same context Stateside. Obviously not - but I liked the link!
EJ, that book rings a bell. I'll go and check it out over at Amazon - it sounds like my kind of book!
Cheers!
I love these, especially the jar. It brings back memories of my grandma's pickles. Love the green.
Andrea,
Having seen your beautiful artwork on a friends wall, I was just wondering how the general public buy some of your artwork? Specifically I was looking at the Childrens names that you have so beautifully decorated. My email is acellis83@gmail.com if you have a spare moment to email me and let me know that would be appreciated.
A Ellis
Your artwork is so nice, full of wonderful detail!
Great drawings andrea..I'm also including the belts' comment here. I'm "pottering" as well a bit lately and struggle to find energy for constructive work!the belts are once again just beautiful in their rendering and I love the color of you kafir lime bottle. Great work for just "pottering"!

I had to look up the word "potter". Yeah, that's what I love to do, too. Your drawings are gorgeous, like always!
I like very much the jar:great work !
Thank you all for the comments and happy pottering!
Cheers.
Your style is so serene, Andrea - a real delight to look at.
You just keep coming up with nice work. I really like the green jar which reminds me of my mom's pickles--same feeling as Jana's.
one amazing sketch after another
Good to see your artist's mind is never far away with the idea to draw these before disposing of them. I love them both...way too hard to pick a favourite :)
