What a strange coincidence. Fed Marvin tonight and left the can opener by the sink. I looked at it for a second and smiled as i thought what a crappy drawing i would make of it. Then i went online and saw this cool spread of yours.
I love the topic and will not try to find any correlation between the objects and the song...
I like the lightness of this one.

What a humourous drawing! Part of what I love about visiting your blog every day is the surprise every drawing is: Cloves! But of course! Tea bags? How come no one thought of that? You make the mundane feel magical Andrea. You may be bored, but your illustrations are never boring.

Hard to be bored with so many drawing subjects in the world . . . Easy to be tired . . .
Oh, I know the feeling. In a funk, too, and, I'm procrastinating like crazy typing this. I'd rather be drawing can- openers, myself. Boy, that's not speaking well of where my motivation is right now. [sigh]
Amazing, though, that this layout and all the repeated sketches still speak of your artistic sense. You might be bored and tired, but this drawing's got a lightness and sense of humor to it.
You have such a gift for making the ordinary extraordinary. and as always, the steady appearance of your non-steady hands amazes me.

Sorry to hear you are feeling uninspired. I occasionally feel like that myself, although your drawings are an inspiration to me - how is it you manage to make such ordinary everyday objects so special?!
I hope you won't let your lack of inspiration get you down too much. When I feel that way I go for walks, visit museums and art galleries, go shopping, eat nice food, buy myself flowers, and suddenly one day the inspiration returns.

I really am in a bit of a funk at the moment but I know 'this too shall pass' (another Bruce quote).
It's so frustrating when this happens though. It feels like there's somehting missing when I'm not drawing, which obviuosly there is, but I feel incomplete. Anyway..
The more I see this one the more I like it. It was just a drawing I did without thinking about. I like doing that.
Big A - this is just ink. Brown Pilot pen. Emma - I agree I need to get out and find some inspiration.

How on earth do you come up with these wonderful objects to draw. You have such patience and do such a great job. You don't show the appearanc with your work, that you are bored with yourself. Great work.
Your drawings are definitely anything but boring Andrea. They are wonderfully exciting! Just hang in there...it'll pass.

Great! So subtle the treatment of the dark areas, and so original the composition... Each drawer of your kitchen becames a treasure trunk on the paper.
